Random April Happenings, Part II

Here are more pictures of more fun things we did in the month of April:

While Elisa was at a sleepover, the rest of us went out to dinner at Rocket Burger and Subs. Erik wanted to go there to try out some of their unique sodas. I thought it was good. I probably would have liked it better if I was hungrier. I chose watermelon soda, but I didn't care for it too much. I liked everyone else's choice better than mine. My favorite was Ian's chocolate soda, from Rocky Mountain chocolate factory. Then we headed next door to the adjoining sister store, Pop the Soda Shop where we picked out some more fun sodas to bring home:

Some pictures that Kassidy's mom sent me of the birthday party. Looks like Elisa had lots of fun! Kassidy is holding up the blanked I made for her. I found some blanket material on sale at walmart, and Elisa said she liked anything dog so I bought it. For the binding I cut up a cheap-o fleece blanked that an airline gave us for our flight to Hawaii and I made the binding from it.

Elisa says she wants to learn the clarinet in band next year, so I took my old clarinet out so she could give it a try.

Elisa enjoyed making her own "squishies" out of paper, tape, and old memory foam bits. She exchanged some with her friends and school and generally had a good time getting her creative gears going.

Since Skittles died, I took out a cage, and put the remaining cage on a table, which makes feeding and cleaning a whole lot easier for me to do. I really shouldn't have 3 piggies in that size of cage, but I am trying to sell a pig or two on craigslist and I am NOT going back to two cages.

I ordered this sign for the kid's bathroom. I thought it was funny. I hope it reminds them to do what they need to do!

April 16
Not the best picture, but here is Ian and Gabe modeling the new shirts I made for them. I like finding inexpensive knit fabric at walmart. I don't sew a whole lot for the boys so its always a treat when I do!

I bought a pajama pattern from Violette Field Threads and made them into a boy-version. I used some very soft white fabric I found at walmart. My plan was to make another for Elisa (the girl/regular version) and then tie-dye them. Which I did, but that will be posted later when I get around to it!

A park-date with Ian. He had a good time just hanging out. By this time his hair was obnoxiously long so I cut it not long after this day.

I made a delicious Saturday dinner of asparagus soup---which I had never made before, asparagus was on sale, homemade croutons---which I also had never made before, but they were super easy---and a lemon merengue pie. Yum!

  1. Good pictures of everyone. It looks like Elisa had fun at the birthday party. It's nice that Elisa wants to play clarinet next year. Interesting how creative the kids are and it's so much fun!
