UK Trip: Day 4, Part 1, National Gallery

Wednesday June 15, 2022

I slept okay. The bed was a little harder than I would have preferred. We drove to the Tube train station. Erik forgot the Oyster cards, so we had to wait at the station for a bit while he went back to the house to pick them up. We missed the first train. We sat and stared at it until it closed its doors, and then Erik realized that was the train we were supposed to get on. Whoops. It wasn’t a big deal; we just waited a little longer and got on the next train to downtown London where we got off to go to The National Gallery.

The Underground (subway) wasn't quite as nice as the train.

Another red British icon.

Trafalgar Square sits in front of the National Gallery. It commemorates Admiral Nelson's victory over the French at the battle of Trafalgar. You can see Big Ben in the distance.

I enjoyed seeing all of the paintings, I think the kids were a bit bored though. I got a few pictures taken with a couple of paintings that were special to me. I might have gone a little overboard in taking pictures of the paintings lol. I haven’t been to a real art museum for a long time.

  1. Nice pictures! I recognized some of them and one of my favorite artists is Monet.
