I took Gabie and Elisa to the nearest (and fairly small) park, back in February (better late than never!). Erik stayed home with Ian, Gabe rode his bike, and Elisa rode in the trailer attached to my bike. The kids played for a short while, until we all discovered some snails! I had no idea there were snails in this area. They were so easy to find--I found them on the bench, in the trees, and on the ground. Some of them were empty shells (which Elisa took home) but most had a slimy and cute but ugly little snail inside. I'm sure these creatures aren't very good for gardens, but they sure entertained the kids (and me) at the park!
Ian stayed with daddy
Don't snails make little holes in the dirt that help give roots space to grow? We have teeny tiny shells here everywhere right now, usually in the summer only. We collected orange fossil shells from Cedar Mountain one time.
