Summer in Utah, Part 2

We signed up Gabe and Elisa for FSY for the summer, mostly because Erik's cousin Lindsay wanted Isabelle and Elisa to go together. Later, Lisa tried to see if Elisa could go to FSY with Aaliyah, but we had already signed Elisa up to be roomies with Isabelle by then. We decided that Gabe may as well go too, so we got him signed up. Their FSY week was June 23-28th at the University of Utah. My mom went with me to drop them off. But first, I had to feed them lunch, so I (not easily) found a Wendy's. I kept trying to find where Lindsay and Isabelle were, but we had checked in before Isabelle appeared. The kids all had assigned rooms in the dorm rooms. We dropped Elisa off first. We requested that Isabelle be roomies with Elisa, but they gave the girls their own private rooms right next to each other. Which is even nicer, I think. And considering Isabelle's behavior at FSY, it was probably a very good thing. Elisa told me Isabelle got very, very upset over a boy she liked and caused drama with all the other girls. The counselor had to ask Lindsay to go pick Isabelle up since Isabelle was trying to leave to walk home in the middle of the night. Yeesh. Elisa had had enough of Isabelle's drama at FSY so she refused to hang out with Isabelle the rest of our stay in Utah. Anyway, next we dropped off Gabe at his dorm room. His roommate was already there. He seemed like a nice kid, but not Gabe's type. Gabe's counselor seemed to click with Gabe a little better. Gabe told us later how his counselor let him play on his switch a few times during the week. All in all, despite the drama surrounding Isabelle, and from what little I could gather from the kids, Gabe and Elisa had a pretty good time at FSY and seemed to enjoy it. Gabe said he liked this FSY better than last year. I'm hoping they'll get to go again next year, this time with Aaliyah maybe.

Just as we were leaving, Isabelle showed up! Her mom was nowhere in sight; I guess she just dropped Isabelle off.

I didn't have any way of getting it to her (she was off with her group and the dorms were all locked up), except by hiding the stuff in a bush and telling her about its exact location for her to grab when she got the chance.

While Gabe and Elisa were away at FSY, Calvin slept over a few times. He's a good buddy for Ian. Ian hangs out more with Cal than he does with Aiden. My mom refused to have Calvin sleep over again since he woke up way too early (like 5am) and got into stuff and woke people up.

June 25

Me and my mom went out to get pedicures. We both got gel nails. Mine was great until they started peeling off a day or two later. We know something was wrong with them since mine were peeling off and my moms weren't. They were really pretty for a while though, a light shimmery blue.
