Summer in Utah, Part 5

Here are some more random pics from our trip to Utah, all on June 30th. Mostly I went shopping and ate out, practically every day! I also helped my mom go through a couple of boxes in the basement. Elisa hung out with Aaliyah and Ian hung out with Calvin. I know we did a lot more stuff that what you see in these pictures.

Silly Gabe was too scared to sleep in Uncle Tom's old bed, so he slept on the couch instead. I had him turn his phone into me at 10pm so that he wouldn't be up on it all night and sleep all day. Still, it was up a few times in the middle of the night, raiding the cupboards. During the day, Gabe worked on a few of his YouTube videos and helped Grandpa do stuff. I wish he had a buddy to hang out with, though Aiden seems to enjoy Gabe's company.

Lisa and I went out for lunch at the Black Bear Diner. I hadn't been there in forever, so I was willing to give it a try. The girls and Gabe didn't want to go, and Aiden probably wasn't ready in time. My mom said she wanted to come but she, like Aiden, wasn't able to make it out the door. So, it was just us and the little boys. The food was okay, I had a sandwich. Lisa ordered an oreo pie for dessert. None of the food was bad, but it wasn't that good either. Nevertheless, the boys sure enjoyed going out to eat.

Calvin and Lisa. I had to remind Lisa a few times to try to teach Calvin to sit still and behave in public restaurants instead of riling him up and encouraging his goofy behavior. Even Ian had to tell them to behave, haha!

Me and my cutie! He's such a fun little guy to have around.

Best cousins!

After eating, we took the boys to DI to have a look around. I don't remember finding much (maybe a few books) but Lisa always seems to find lots of stuff. We usually stay until someone (usually Ian, sometimes even me) begs us to leave.

Having fun browsing the shelves of DI.

Later that day, I helped my mom sort through a few boxes in the basement. We came across this picture (it was tiny, hardly bigger than a thumbnail!) of my mom and her bff Julie, whom she still talks to, almost every day. Julie now lives in Tennessee and is not doing so well, health-wise. Sometimes she sends my mom (and Michael) random gifts.

My mom and her bff Julie, probably taken some time in the late 70's.

  1. More fun shopping and eating out! It would be nice for Gabe to find a friend at church in South Jordan.
