Disney Bahamas Cruise: Day 1

Saturday, Sept 28, 2025

We woke up early to catch our flight to Orlando that left around 9am. Unfortunately, it was delayed an hour, so we sat around waiting. Erik bought some breakfast to munch on while we sat. The kids spent the time talking to Grandma and Grandpa. The plane ride was uneventful. I listened to music and read my book. When we landed, we got our bags and waited while Erik got the rental car. It was a silver Chrysler van. Luckily our rental home wasn’t too far from the airport. The house had plenty of beds for all of us, including a room with four large bunkbeds—the kids stayed there. There were lots of mirrored and rhinestoned decor, but otherwise the house wasn’t notable. For dinner we ate at The Castle Irish Pub. Erik ordered the Reuben fritters as an appetizer. They were strange but good. I ordered the shepherd's pie. Erik got fish and chips. Elisa ordered the smoked fish dip. There was a live guitarist from Ireland singing American songs. After dinner, we went back to the Airbnb and went to bed.

We saw ads for Epic Universe in the airport. Ian asked me to take this picture

Reuben fritters--they were yummy!

My Shepard's pie

Ian ordered what else but mac n cheese!

Elisa ordered a salmon spread and surprisingly ate almost all of it. She tends to do that--she'll say that she's not hungry but then she'll eat the food when its put in front of her!

We checked out of the house at 11am and drove straight to the cruise terminal. We headed straight to the buffet, it was super busy, but we found a seat. I wasn’t that hungry, but I did get some shrimp and a small salad.

Erik found Grandma and Grandpa eating at an outside table at the buffet.

After we ate, our rooms were available, and our luggage was dropped off shortly afterwards. Except mine, it was dropped off later since it had been inspected. We unpacked and then checked out the ship’s amenities such and the kid's clubs, the spa, and the gym. I signed up for a massage on Thursday.

The pumpkin tree

Ian was obsessed with Mr. Potato Head 7 years ago on the Disney Dream.

I got a preview of my massage. Erik tried a preview, but he didn't like it.

Then it was time for dinner. We were originally scheduled for the later dinner, but Erik was able to get someone to help us get an earlier seat. We waited for about 10 minutes until we were given table 67. We teased the kids about 6-7 since apparently those numbers are a fad. Dinner was decent. I ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was pretty yummy. I also ordered the clam chowder; it was alright. For my main entree I ordered the sirloin steak with a baked potato. It was ok/good. For dessert, I got the coffee creme brûlée, which I really liked. Our next activity was the Tangled show, which was just a stage reenactment of the movie, but it was still fun to see.

6-7 bro!
I ordered a flank steak with a baked potato. It was alright.

Caramel creme brulee for dessert.

  1. Cute picture of Ian in front of Super Nintendo World. Nice picture of everyone eating dinner at the restaurant. Funny picture of both Rick and I on the ship. Cute pictures of the kids on the ship as well as eating dinner there. I got a preview massage and didn't like it either.
