I saw several of these hair wraps in girls' hair at Disney World. I guess they've made a comeback from the 90's. I thought it would be fun to put one in Elisa's hair (sometimes I live vicariously through her--I never got one of these). It was easy, cheap, and fun! Elisa liked it. It eventually got saggy and frayed so I pulled it out about 3 weeks later.
One beautiful day, Elisa and I rode our bikes to a little park not too far from our house. We stayed for a short while, and then Elisa got tired and wanted to leave. Just as we were leaving, I spotted something out of the corner of my eye: a beautiful white, wooden vanity set, a girl's play kitchen, and some random room decor items out on the curb of someone's house. I went over to check it out--I even rang the doorbell to make sure it was okay to just take. Well, in the time it took to ride our bikes home, start the SUV's engine, and drive back over there, the vanity and room decor items were gone!! I was so mad! And I bet the items have been sitting there all day! I very ungracefully stuffed the kitchen in the trunk and left to pick up Gabe, just fuming. I realized though, that I had just acquired a beautiful play kitchen, for FREE. I should be happy about what I have and not angry at what I don't. Such is life.
The kids were enamored with the play kitchen for awhile. I even bought some play food and utensils for the kitchen. Erik put the kitchen in Elisa's room and now she NEVER touches it. However, it matches her room quite well and guess who loves playing with it? Ian! He loves the kitchen and pretending to make food!
A day at the library. Elisa creating a masterpiece in chalk.
Ian at the park. He makes a convincing girl while wearing girl clothes!
At the mall. We don't go there much anymore since they've started their endless construction of the freeway, but when we did, we would go after preschool and try all the samples of food in the food court and buy a Wendy's frosty!
This kid as a big, fun personality. Definitely a keeper!
I love Ian's beautiful blue eyes!
Ian and mommy selfies!
My pretty girl. No other reason needed to take her picture!
Sometimes we feed Ian like a dog. Because why not.
The very first step I took into packing up to move. I had a big ugly box of CDs that had been sitting in the laundry/pantry room for the last 4 years. I ordered a cd case from Amazon and shoved all the cds into the case and threw away the cases. Why didn't I do this years ago?? So much more room made now!
Gabe lost another tooth! This is a picture just a few days before it came out. I don't think I took any more pictures of this. He got some quarters and another $2 bill from the Tooth Fairy
Elisa wearing her new dress I ordered online. It took forever to come! She was able to get one wear out of it before it got too hot.
Cute AND cool?? How about that!
A cute video of Elisa in the grocery store (Kroger) with her cute little shopping cart, BUT:
Another day at the park. Ian loves the slide! It will be nice when he's a little older and can take himself down the slide. He's heavy and it is exhausting helping him go down the slide 10 times in a row.
Erik pulled a bunch of bricks out of the front landscaping while he arranged the rocks. The kids love playing with them in the backyard.
A pretty girl painting a pretty picture.
Yet another trip to the grocery store. I took an adorable video of the kids, but it got lost/deleted. It was of Ian being a goof and Elisa crying (yes, again!) about another dolly she wanted.
Ian, future soccer-rocker!
A Trip to Chick-Fil-A. We got a free shake, for not reason at all. It was delicious but I sure paid for it later. Sometimes I wonder if I am lactose intolerant. Maybe just lactose sensitive?
And last but not least, by Ian beanie boo-boo. The cutest kid in the entire universe.
Fun and not so fun times! At least Elisa got another baby doll for her birthday!
