A few hours after waking up and eating breakfast (we made enough to finish off the eggs and pancake mix), we headed to the Maui Swap Meet. It was quite hot (just as I remember it being), but there seemed to be more shops/stands than I remember from last time. Not as many as the Oahu swap meet, but enough that I felt as though I had seen it all. Unfortunately, the cash that I had brought for the swap meet had been used the day before to get us around Lanai. I had maybe a hundred dollars, and that doesn’t buy much these days. I bought myself a sterling silver ring with an opal in the center and a sea turtle on both sides, and I bought Elisa a necklace made of pearls with a pink starfish pendant at one of the very first booths we visited. I found a blue Hawaii shirt with a rooster on it for Gabe, and Erik bought himself a t-shirt at the same stand and a Hawaiian aloha shirt from Howie in Maui. Elisa, Ian, and I picked out some bracelets at another place, which I think were overpriced, but Ian really wanted a turtle bracelet. We looked at more booths, but I didn’t find anything else to buy. Although I thought about buying some Hawaiian hot sauces, I remembered I had just bought a bunch over the summer at TJ Maxx. Everyone was hot and tired, so we decided to head out. But first, grandpa bought Elisa a coconut to drink, and I bought Ian some Pokémon cards he wanted along with a fuzzy hair-clip Elisa found.
We were feeling hungry, so we drove to Paia Fish market (again—this one was in Paia). Elisa and I shared the same meal, blackened salmon with potatoes and way, way too much coleslaw. Erik ordered a can of ginger beer, it was okay. After lunch, we briefly looked around the town of Paia, but we didn't find much. On the drive back to the condo, we stopped at Ululani Shave Ice again for dessert. Most of us ordered the tropical fruit flavors again with ice cream and sweetened condensed milk on top.
Next, we drove back to the condo and hung out for a while before getting our swimsuits on and going to the beach for one last swim in the sea. I swam for most of our time there, but I got out after about an hour when I started to get cold. I got wiped out by a wave when I wasn’t paying attention, and it knocked my hat and sunglasses off and also induced a cramp in my foot. I caught a wave on the wave board, surprisingly since it was my first time! The kids stayed a little longer in the water and then played in the sand. Then we gathered our stuff, washed off, and walked back to the condo. I took lots of pictures while at the beach! We spent the rest of the evening doing laundry, packing, and finishing off the food.

We woke up around 5am. I unfortunately didn’t sleep too well, but I hadn’t slept well the whole trip. We got ready, packed up our stuff, and drove off to the airport, but we stopped for gas at Costco on the way. Poor Ian had to give up his bamboo stick at security. He was bummed, but I did warm him that they probably wouldn’t allow that through. Erik and Grandpa got Burger King for us for breakfast, and then we boarded the plane. We couldn’t find seats together, so we all had to sit by strangers. I sat behind someone that kept blowing huge nasty farts. Other than that, I just read my smutty vampire book.
The swap meet was better than I remembered which I even thought was in a different place. The food at Paia Fish Market was pretty good.
