Ian's Baptism

On January 28th, Ian got baptized! Grandma Julie came down and so did Grandma and Grandpa Nelson. Aunt Lisa and Grandpa Ron watched over Zoom. I had one of my piano students, Lydia, play piano for the prelude, some hymns, and the postlude. Grandpa gave a talk, and I enlisted the help of Elisa to give the other talk on the 3 bears of baptism. Erik of course performed the baptism. Erik's friend Dan lead the music. Grandma Julie said the opening prayer, and Gabe gave the closing prayer. I bought a few treats to share afterwards. We had a really small group for Ian's baptism, but that's okay. Silly Erik forgot to bring towels for him and Ian. Whoops. Besides that, it was a perfect baptism. I hope Ian felt special and clean on his very special baptism day!

The invites I sent out.

Post-baptism: We had Ian's friend party (see post), here are the other fun things we did that day to celebrate Ian:
We all went out to Bobby Q's for dinner that evening. Ian of course ordered mac n cheese, and they gave him a special treat for his birthday.

We got so busy that we forgot to give him his new set of engraved scriptures at his baptism, but we got around to it that evening.
