February Random Happenings

Despite being the shortest month of the year, my February is the largest! So much fun and so much busy.

After 3 tries, Gabe finally got his driver's license! He was super happy. Erik took him to get some Krispy Kreme to celebrate. Congrats to Gabe! Now he drives himself and Elisa to school and back every day.

I need metal help...? My collection of cups and bowls that I was too lazy to bring downstairs for the longest time, so I just let it pile up. I had to cram them all in a large bag when I finally got my act together to clean up my mess.

The main event of February.  It doesn't look like much, but geeze did it ever throw off my month. I was washing dishes and was in a hurry. Knives were involved. I couldn't tell you how deep it was. It didn't hurt very much, nor did it bleed a whole lot. So, I wrapped it up in bandages and hoped that it wouldn't take too long to heal.  Having been cut by not-exactly-clean knives made me think about getting my tetanus shot. So I made an appointment for the next day to get the shot over with. I asked to have it in my right arm since my right hand was incapacitated anyway. That evening, as I sat in Gabe's group meeting, I watched my finger swell and swell. Within a few days, I was able to resume most normal activities. The cut itself healed up just fine. However, I am certain that I cut a bit of the tendon, because even now--almost three months later--the finger still feels tight when I bend it, and a bit stiff in the mornings. I'm hoping it will eventually heal completely, but one never know with these sorts of injuries.

The kids didn't have school on President's day, so I took Ian and Elisa (Gabe didn't want to come along) to a fun drink place, The Daily Drip. I would call it a coffee house but its way bigger than that. Ian and Elisa ordered sandwiches. Ian got gelato and Elisa got a fun strawberry drink. I got myself a drink too. All that added up to almost $50...not a cheap place to go!

I bought Ian some Burger King after his orthodontist appointment.

After years of owning the Switch with no problems, Ian finally broke the switch. Most likely he left it on the floor and then stepped on it.

  1. Nice pictures of the boys and Elisa. That's great Gabe got his driver's license! Sorry about your finger and the broken Switch.
